How Can We Help?

Updating a Reclaim-hosted Mukurtu CMS site

Note: Beginning December 2022, Reclaim Hosting’s Shared Hosting clients need to manually update their Reclaim-hosted Mukurtu sites when new versions are released, as the automatic Installatron updater is no longer supported. If you are paying for Reclaim’s Professional Services add-on, you can contact them to manage these updates for you.

There are three steps needed to update Mukurtu sites on Reclaim:

  1. Run the code update through Installatron on the Reclaim client portal.
  2. Run the database updates from the front end of your site.
  3. Flush all Drupal caches from the front end of your site.

After running the Installatron update (step 1), you must *immediately* proceed to your site and complete the database updates (step 2) and cache clear steps (step 3). Your site update will not be complete until all steps are complete and an incomplete update will affect site usability.

Experienced Drupal administrators may choose to place their sites in maintenance mode before beginning updates, but it is likely not required for most sites.

1) Run the code update through Installatron on the Reclaim client portal.

Login to your Reclaim account at https://portal.reclaimhosting.com

Go to the cPanel.

Click on My Apps in the Applications menu.

Find the Mukurtu site to be updated. Check the installed version, and if an update is needed, click the red arrow icon to update.
If a site is already on the current version, this icon will not be displayed.

The current (installed) version will be displayed. Select the version to update to in the Destination Version field (it will default to the latest version). Click Update.

A progress bar will display the update progress.

When done, the site will show the currently installed version of Mukurtu CMS.

If there are any issues with the update, contact Reclaim Hosting for assistance.
